Download the FreeSpace Open Installer
The Installer does not contain retail FS2 files. You can purchase retail FS2 from Good Old Games.
The FreeSpace Open Installer is an attempt to significantly reduce the difficulty of installing FreeSpace Open over a Retail FreeSpace 2 installation. The first version was coded by Turey, who manages this website. The second version was coded by Goober5000 and is now maintained by the FreeSpace 2 Source Code Project

REQUIREMENTS AND NOTES
The Installer requires an internet connection to install. This is because:
1. It checks to see if it is out of date by pulling the number of the most recent version off of the web.
2. It automatically takes you to the download page of the most recent version if your version is out of date.
3. It downloads ALL the files, so that they are up-to-date.
This Installer SHOULD work on top of an old self-installed FreeSpace Open setup, but I don't take any responsibility in the unlikely event that it screws up something.
